Invisalign NuMe
Sherwood, OR

Close up of a woman putting clear aligner on her teeth from Senestraro Family Orthodontics in Sherwood, OR 97140Crooked teeth can have a significant impact on your smile. They can also affect your oral health. When your teeth are misaligned, your bite is altered, which can then lead to uneven wear on your enamel, tooth damage, bruxism, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Crooked teeth also increase your risk of developing tooth decay and gum disease.

Traditionally, crooked teeth have been corrected with metal braces. This treatment uses brackets and wires to move your teeth into proper alignment, restoring the appearance of your smile and your oral health. Many patients, however, particularly older teens and adults, are not very fond of the idea of sporting a shiny metal smile. Invisalign was developed as an invisible alternative to metal braces. At Senestraro Family Orthodontics, we are proud to offer the latest treatment from Invisalign, NuMe.

What is Invisalign NuMe?

Invisalign NuMe is similar treatment to the standard Invisalign treatment. It involves the use of clear plastic aligners, rather than the metal brackets and wires of traditional braces, to straighten your teeth. Your aligners are made from digital impressions of your mouth, which are displayed on a computer monitor. These impressions not only allow us to create your aligners, but they also allow us to see the progression of your treatment from start to finish. Because the aligners are clear, they disappear completely from view when you put them on. They are also removable, but they should be left in your mouth for at least 20 to 22 hours every day to provide you with the best possible results.

How Does Invisalign NuMe Work?

Invisalign NuMe, like standard Invisalign, uses a series of aligners to gradually shift your teeth into proper alignment. Each set of aligners is made to be worn for two weeks at a time, and each new set is slightly different from the one before it. The hard plastic of the aligners is responsible for the movement of your teeth. It places pressure on the teeth, which then places pressure on the periodontal ligaments. This causes the ligaments to widen so that your teeth become mobile.

The aligners then gently guide your teeth into their new positions. Unlike standard Invisalign treatment, Invisalign NuMe works faster, achieving results in as little as three months. Once your treatment is completed, you are provided with a retainer to help maintain your beautiful new smile.

Benefits of Invisalign NuMe

Invisalign NuMe offers benefits over traditional braces as well as over standard Invisalign treatment.
•  The aligners are completely invisible.
•  You can eat all of your favorite foods.
•  Oral care is easier.
•  The aligners are more comfortable than brackets and wires.
•  Your treatment time is reduced. Treatment with NuMe is even faster than treatment with standard Invisalign. Many patients see results in as little as three months.
•  Invisalign NuMe costs less than standard Invisalign treatment.

Are There Any Drawbacks to Treatment with Invisalign NuMe?

While there are numerous benefits to Invisalign NuMe, there are also a few disadvantages. First, they cannot correct serious bite or alignment issues, particularly ones that affect the alignment of your jaws. They also cannot fix as much as standard Invisalign can fix. A thorough oral exam will help to determine if you are a good candidate for this amazing new treatment.

With Invisalign NuMe, your smile can be restored. Call Senestraro Family Orthodontics today to schedule your consultation and find out if NuMe is right for you at (503) 925-8899.
